Water | Water Sphere, Harrogate
This water sphere is installed in a private garden near Harrogate in North Yorkshire and is constructed from Lakeland Blue slate.
The material appears very dark as water moves across the surface, deepening the tone and drawing out the layered structure of the stone. Each piece is shaped and positioned by hand, allowing the surface to respond subtly to light and movement.
The steady flow of water softens the geometry of the sphere while reinforcing its form. Positioned as a central element within the garden, the sculpture introduces a sense of balance and tranquillity through both its presence and the movement of water.
